Re: Next one!

You're not wrong Russel about it not being easy, if done right.
Good going with your progress.

Re: Next one!

I too the Trans Am for a drive today. It's been a bit neglected of late. I visited the memorial in the middle of New Plymouth and took the opportunity to practice this exercise again. Maybe I'm being a bit hopeful but I sensed a little improvement. Forgive me for the lazy technique at the end lol

Re: Next one!

You are improving Russel. smile

And you are light years ahead of where you were a short time ago
when you first started cracking.

Re: Next one!

Russell, Ron's right: you are improving steadily, and markedly. (You might try doing this with the same speed but with less force, just to see....)

I feel deeply envious of your warm sunshine!

Re: Next one!

Good Morning everyone. Yesterday Morning before going to the City for Christmas shopping, I just grab the whip and we made this short video. Please forgive, but I did not warm up or make a lot of testvideos to select the best one. This is just the way it is, when I grab the whip and make the first cracks.

It is just some different two handet cracks, so maybe it should have been placed in another tread.

If the weather behave - I will record some more this afternoon.

Re: Next one!

Thanks Ron & Robert, since I was unable to perform an underhand crack when we started this exercise I'm pleased with my progress and I will try to use less force next time. I really don't know why I seem to "default' to that lol

Re: Next one!

Flemming, that's progress!  smile

Russell, I think we all have an instinct to 'muscle' the whip. Training oneself not to do this is just part of the discipline!

Re: Next one!

Flemming, you are improving.
I think Robby wants the exchange to be immediately after the crack and not while the whip is recoiling behind us.

You have a nice smooth flow.
Good job.

Re: Next one!

Flemming, I think that is a great start!  I love the view of the garden and your hat is fantastic!  Definitely good when the frost is so thick on the grass!

Russell that is great cracking, I haven't seen your in between videos; it looks like a LOT of improvement from the last I saw.

Great job, y'all!

Re: Next one!

Flemming - Ron is right. Try to do the change of hands earlier. I already commented on your other video, you posted today - about stance and hip rotation. Just go on practicing and you'll see how fast you're going to master these cracks. One more thing - the plane on the overhead crack. Try to be really horizontal. There is one of the WB shorts in which I talk - and explain - the plane thinbgie in detail.

Russell - very good. The whole thing is now more floating. No interruption when you change hands. And here's your homework: Try to get the whip to crack closer to the ground. That way you will be able to do the change of hands earlier. And when you mastered this - become slower. That slow that the whip is close to fall to the ground.

Thank you both for posting your videos!

Re: Next one!

Thank you Robby, Thank You Ron.

I will find the video on the overhead crack , and try to change hands earlier. It seems a litte unnatural to do it so early, but I know there is a meaning with that.

Thank you.

Today is a good day

Re: Next one!

Russell, your new video shows very good improvement - congratulations!
I also like the combo at the end of your video and the WN baseball cap!

Flemming, welcome to the 20/20 Challenge!
Your videos clearly show that you are progressing - good job!
In your second video (post#70), I've noticed that you tend to move the shoulder of the arm in which you're holding the whip to a lower position than the other shoulder. Trying to keep both shoulders in a "balanced, relaxed position" has always helped me when it comes to routines that involve changing hands.

All the best
Ben

Re: Next one!

I have to admit Rachel I was too distracted on how calm and collected your boys were in the last video to notice that they were doing it incorrectly! You sure have trained them well smile
It's looking good to me this time! Well done Garret and Hagen smile
