Re: Next Video
Well, I managed to keep practicing. Not as much as I liked, but the reason were birthdays, so that's not a bad thing .
Here's my third video, I got the feeling that it was a bit off compared to previous video.

Sven, your practice video doesn't look bad at all in my opinion (quiet the opposite )!
Your technique is very fluid and a fluid, good techique is the main purpose of this exercise.
All the best
Ben
That really does , like Ben said, look very fluid.
I would watch out for creating limiting habits in working in a limited space. The only one I see is not extending your arm like you probably would in a larger space.
As stated before you would benefit greatly with more room or a little shorter whip.
You go really good with the space you have though.
Great job.

hmmmm...speaking of next videos...
Nice job Sven. To me it looked like you maintained your calm and relaxed demeanour very well
Thanks everyone. I know about the limited space. I'm in the process of building a 6 foot whip. Thank will help.
I'm always looking for other places to practice .

Sorry Jessie I missed your post, did you say next video?
Looking forward hearing more!
On the odd occasion i've tried this I seem to mistime bringing down the circus crack when doing it with my opposite hand and the whip ends up in a tangled mess.
I'll be putting in a more sustained effort in the coming days, it's a good exercise
Russell, due to Robby being extremely busy with some other important projects, we set up the opposite overhead horizontal crack in the 10/10 area until Robby has time. He's a movie star, so he's busy starring in movies right now. Since he needs to earn his bread and butter, we are gonna handle the training in the 10/10 this time around. I don't think its been 10 days??? HAS IT? If so, Ill think of something else we can do, no problem.
Sorry Jessie I do not understand what you mean exactly.
I'm working on a few different exercises as well as the overhead horizontal in order to catch up and also improve my whip cracking in other areas too.
Maybe I was laboring under a misapprehension. Is there a problem contributing to the thread?

Sorry, I was replying to this. I didnt realize it was form the 10th. carry on with what you are doing. I'm sorry.

No worries, I should have quoted your post to save confusion. Apologies for my poor etiquette there
I was the one that didn't read it through. It's all good.
Here my best for the day on this one. My whip is so short, that I have worked on sloving the first part down. Now when I see it on video, I see that the cattleman is too looks hysterically uncontrolled. That is not the "normal standard",so I have to revise on this one.
Flemming, can you slow down and use less force for this? (To me, it looks quite jerky....) But you're on the way!
Thank you Robert. I get a lot of help from the whip and in my case it is mostly a matter of "with or agains the Curve".
If I try to do it the wrong way it don't work
Sorry. This comment belonged in another thread
Flemming, thank you for sharing your video!
You are doing way better than me when I joined this challenge, good job!
One of the the many, many good things about this challenge is the we can observe and analyse our whipcracking sessions after we've shoot a video.
Just like you, I was very surpised to see what my practice sessions looked like from a "distant view".
What has helped me to reduce my bad habbit of using too much speed and force was to forget about the crack. Trying to do a technique with just enough force and speed to prevent the thong from falling down and without intendently trying to crack the whip worked wonders for me.
All the best
Ben
Thanks Ben. I try to do the same but someway or another it seem that the whip try to crack "as loud as a gunshot" when it have tried it once
You are right Felmming, I've heared that those Sui Generis Whips just won't listen when you tell them to stop cracking
All the best
Ben
