Re: The Donations

If you like it the handle must look epic.

Roger, I like the Scrappy overlay very much indeed!

Re: The Donations

Thanks Robert.

There is a slight problem with Scrappy though. I finished the overlay on Tuesday night and stuck a fall and popper on yesterday. Took it out for a test crack and to my dismay, discovered that I hadn't bound the handle enough and it's too 'floppy'. I can get a crack out of it but it really needs a little more leverage in the handle soooo...

...I think I'm going to strip it back from the heel, add further binding and replait back up. I may have to lose a couple of inches off the handle but I think it will be easier than stripping back the entire overlay from the tip. Arse.

Think for yourself, act for everyone.

Re: The Donations

What a bore! Still, Rog, you had the sense to do a test crack, and so discovered the problem!

Re: The Donations

Ugh shitty.

I am finishing up the overlay on mine today too.  It's very plain and boring compared to what I usually do, but I'm hoping it will make a good everyday whip.

Jessie, an everyday whip is the best kind.

Re: The Donations

All done.  The portrait wood burned on the handle is the founder of the donation campaign, Robby's late puppy, Lucy.  Maybe Robby can post a photo of her so you know what she looks like.  It's hard to see it in the round.  It's 6.5 feet with a heel knot, transition knot and 2 smaller knots further down the transition.  A chain "dog collar" is an accent between.  It is free moving to lessen wear on the transition since that is a bend point in the whip..  Light tan with a oak cabochon.

Re: The Donations

Jessie, that is singularly appropriate!  I love the portrait of Lucy, I remember her photo and I can see you did a great job!  The thong looks great to, but the portrait is a focal point for me smile

Re: The Donations

Very appropriate, very special.
WS you knocked it out of the park!  Beautiful.

Rachel's right, an inside the park HOME RUN, because I know it wasn't easy.
Great job.

Re: The Donations

That is the first time ever that I saw a ring installed into the transition area! The overall design and the color combination is beautiful. That's what I call style. In the meantime your webshop is like a candy store for adults, interested in whips. Good work, Jessie. Good job.

Re: The Donations

Wow, thank you.  Why not everyone take pictures of the whips they are donating and maybe I can try to make a slideshow on Youtube as an advertisement for the raffle?  I thought it might be a help to get it out?  Maybe a thread just for pictures of donations...I was trying to post about the raffle last night and it was...messy.  I wonder if we can make it a little cleaner and easier?

Re: The Donations

One more thing-
I would suggest one thread with donation instructions address and rules, very simple and clear- then each person who donates an item, only those folks reply with a post including description and pictures.  We can then link that on our websites and social media.  All rules clearly written right before the "here's how to donate" PayPal address.

Inch by inch.
