Re: For Jeff :)

Rachel, it's perfect for Jeff's whip.

Re: For Jeff :)

So glad it made it to Jeff's hands safely!  It seems whenever I ship a whip it arrives in a storm big_smile
So here's a couple pictures I said I would post:

Re: For Jeff :)

Wow Rachel, the handle is so shiney that it looks like black lacquer paint.

Re: For Jeff :)

Oohh! You have much better scenery for taking pictures.  And yes, it is storming now so I can't test it out yet...

Here's wishing you find time for the things you want to do, and for the things you need to do.

Re: For Jeff :)

Thanks Jeff it is pretty here!

Ron yessir it's shiny, just several, several coats of Tung oil rubbed on and 1200 grit sandpaper in between.  I tried to get that Lacquer look for it smile

Re: For Jeff :)

Jeff I will admit I'm really anxious (like a little kid!) to hear what you think about how it cracks.  I shifted the weight forward just a bit and I think with the weighted fall it will flow alright.

Re: For Jeff :)

I tried a few light underhand flicks in my front room and it flowed really smoothly and gave a nice satisfying "Pop!"  I can't wait till the weather clears up and I can really test it.  At first glance the handle seems a bit light compared to the whip.  Maybe a bit of lead in the handle would fix that.  I won't really know till I can get out and really test it.

Re: For Jeff :)

Jeff I'm glad to hear that!  Yes it is definitely a lighter wood, and the thong is a bit heavier than my normal pattern.  I look forward to your weather clearing smile
