All natural Wenge
Rachel, it's perfect for Jeff's whip.
Ron
I agree, Ron. Perfect!
Thanks! I think it looks good together.
In the mail!!
So, pictures coming soon, in a few days!
Yay! Can't wait, seems like it's gonna look amazing!
I hope so, Erik!
Wow Rachel, the handle is so shiney that it looks like black lacquer paint.
Ron
Oohh! You have much better scenery for taking pictures. And yes, it is storming now so I can't test it out yet...
Thanks Jeff it is pretty here!
Ron yessir it's shiny, just several, several coats of Tung oil rubbed on and 1200 grit sandpaper in between. I tried to get that Lacquer look for it
Jeff I will admit I'm really anxious (like a little kid!) to hear what you think about how it cracks. I shifted the weight forward just a bit and I think with the weighted fall it will flow alright.
I tried a few light underhand flicks in my front room and it flowed really smoothly and gave a nice satisfying "Pop!" I can't wait till the weather clears up and I can really test it. At first glance the handle seems a bit light compared to the whip. Maybe a bit of lead in the handle would fix that. I won't really know till I can get out and really test it.
Jeff I'm glad to hear that! Yes it is definitely a lighter wood, and the thong is a bit heavier than my normal pattern. I look forward to your weather clearing
