Re: Arizona whips

I applaud your brave attempts regardless of failure or success.

Sometimes you just gotta twist the throttle .

Yesterday I spotted an albino dalmatian.
It was the least I could do for him.

Welcome Craig, congrats!!

Nice, congrats Craig, so much goodness behind the curtain. Burn up that search function!

Let's try this again.

Cool Idea with the copper pipe and cable.

Re: Arizona whips

Craig, do you have some method of avoiding a 'hinge' in the thong where the steel cable ends? (There must be several methods of doing this, but I imagine it's quite important.)

'Less is often more!'

Re: Arizona whips

Robert - not yet.  I'm worried about that very thing. I tried to smash it together as tightly as I could.

Re: Arizona whips

I finally found some free time to bind and bolster the core. I think this whip is going to be a dismal failure. I'm going to finish it anyway to see if there are any aspects of it that I want to try on future whips.

Re: Arizona whips

That's all you can do, Craig, but it's the only way for the next one to be better...well wishes!

Re: Arizona whips

I found my short comings on my whip were huge learning
lessons that I would not have learned if I had not made them.
Because of that the next whip will be better.
I have faith in you.
Considering what you have just accomplished with your athletics you can do anything.

Re: Arizona whips

Thank you. I'm trying to use the hockey tape more for shaping. Also, in this on I was able to stop early in the braiding and make a decision to go from four plait to eight plait based on the gaps and angle of the strands. Thank you, Pokkis.

That's the way to adapt on the run so to speak. smile

Re: Arizona whips

Franken whip on hold so I can make this one for work. My whips are all becoming monstrosities because of all the material I'm putting into the transition in an attempt to make them more stiff.

Re: Arizona whips

I do like that plaiting pattern. It's on my list for a future design.
