That would surely be my main priority.... sleep.... and love on the pups.
They would go a long way to heal me from the job reality.

It's looking great Mark.
The fancy plaiting is very eye catching.

How does it crack? ( stupid question for sure)

Hayes, it might be as you suspect, but it also might be the cord reacting to the hot wax, if that's the way you waxed it.

All paracord are not created equal.
Polyester cord is prone to twisting more than nylon. Mix the two and you are going to see a very negative result.

Mark is right.
I remember finding a mistake after completing 4' of overlay.
That was so fun. :(
I was so tempted to just leave it, but I would always know it was there and it would bother me ..... forever.

Hayes, your style is rapidly going into the "recognition" stage.
One look and you can tell that this is a "Hayes" whip.
I love the color and the satin finish is spot on.
Be proud.

How does it crack?

Great looking whip Mark.
I didn't even see the purple until the close up. Great color choices.

They are quite recognizable.

Hayes, that is the proof of improving. Being to recognize what works and what doesn't and improving on that information will take you far to becoming a premier whip maker. I also split the artificial sinew to make less bulkier crackers. I also do this while combining the smaller strands, like you wo...

Great looking handle.
I like the shape of the "cup" part.
Your ferrules are becoming a part of your whip signature.
Nice.

Hayes, the only thing that I can see is, it tapers quickly towards the last 1/4 (?) of the tip, faster than it appears to taper in the middle and top of the thong. Remember, this is not necessarily wrong. There's as many ways to make a whip as there are makers. As long as you are getting the results...

I agree with Rachel about Paracord Galaxy and E.L. Wood cord. Being nylon, it melts better and more evenly. That comes in real handy if you ever have to join cord, or stick dropped ends to the thong after cutting, and the end cords of a TH knot as well. Made in America too, I believe. With cord made...
