Robby has invited stories about our whips. This story is about a whip I don’t have any more – it was stolen many years ago - a 12 footer, made from one of those Tandy kits available in the 1960s. (I think I made it in 1964.) It wasn’t brilliant, but I got to be pretty good with it. However, I never ...

Robby is quite right to insist that we keep our threads distinct. A couple of days ago, I finally managed to post some photos. In my excitement, I added these to Mario’s thread. I’ll now try to start my own thread. First, (once again) here are two photos of my 6.5' 16 plait bullwhip by Celedonio San...

Yes, Chel's work is amazing. This 6.5 footer is probably the best whip I've ever had. It's a great pity that Chel doesn't seem to make very many....

I can now post photos! Robby was right: there was a problem with my browser. A little profession help has put this right.... Here's another whip from my collection - a 10.5 footer, 12 plait kangaroo: http://i1292.photobucket.com/albums/b565/delaval497/TroyHorton105_zps564fb2bc.jpg This whip is not p...

I hope these pictures come through! This is the 6.5' 16 plait bullwhip by Celedonio Santamaria. (These are Chel's own photos.) http://i1292.photobucket.com/albums/b565/delaval497/CeledonioSantamaria65ft_zpsf606dfb0.jpg http://i1292.photobucket.com/albums/b565/delaval497/CeledonioSantamaria-handledet...

Mario, that's a great looking whip! I can imagine how it handles, as I, too, have a 6.5 footer by Chel - one of my own favourites. Mine, too, cracks very easily. (The weight IS carried a long way down the thong. Chel described this whip as 'extra thick and heavy'.) I'm trying to overcome some techni...

This is a real challenge, Robby! It will take me a while, but I'll work on it. I'm still struggling with the pictures on your site: sometimes they don't appear at all (but others comment on them, so I know they're there), and I'm seeking profession help in posting pictures. (I haven't managed it yet...

Heartiest congratulations to Robby and all the whip makers involved in the Ring of Trust. This is a splendid idea, and a very professional and impressive site, which should help provide an international standard of excellence by which any new whip can be judged. Full marks to all!

Dear Robby,

Of course I'm not a whip maker, but I think this is a splendid idea! I hope it comes to be.... It reflects, once again, the generous spirit you bring to this whole world of whips.
