Scott - me too, that's why I drowned it in scotch guard. It'll probably never get used, but it cracks well.

Latest whip. 6' Korean Flag bull whip. I'm really happy with all three knots. The heel knot is also glow in the dark. http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j45/Craig_Frank/whips/20190919_120756_zps61hzlig9.jpg http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j45/Craig_Frank/whips/20190919_120804_zpsaj6k3457.jpg http:/...

Ok, just finished. So let me tell everyone my intent. This whip is supposed to represent the iconic Clint Eastwood Spaghetti Western character, The Man with No Name (even though they clearly said in For a Few Dollars More that his name was Mandrake). The intent was for the overlay to mimic his ponch...

Working furiously to finish my whip this weekend. Just need to do the overlay, the handle leather, and the knots. Here's what it will represent. http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j45/Craig_Frank/whips/171-0426105725-10429440_gal_zpskaujuzej.jpg http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j45/Craig_Frank/whips...

Latest whip for departing boss finished. He went to Alabama so it has the Crimson Tide colors (Crimson, White, and Grey) and he was an Engineer Officer so it has those colors (Scarlet and White) as well. And finally black and gold for the Army. I'm going to start on my whip for the raffle this weeke...

Mark - I love the variations in the braiding. It's surprising how well they show with a single color. Good color choice.

Robert - indeed! I think the novelty is the selling point. How many people can say that their going away gift was a whip?

I do like that concho, Craig. I've lent your Frankenwhip to friend of mine who is a real beefy fellah and likes to muscle his whips (no matter how many times I tell him not to! :/) and he does like it. :D Glad to hear it. That one was definitely heavy. I still want to eventually make a three belly ...

Robert - not quite, but close. I'm going to try something new on my next whip that might make it thinner, but stiffer.

Whip done. Definitely not my best work, but not horrible. Has a slight right pull, a slight hinge, and a slight bulge, but not unwieldy. http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j45/Craig_Frank/Camera/20190505_144325_zps9x5yefxy.jpg http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j45/Craig_Frank/Camera/20190505_144343_z...

hey Craig, good to see you! is it gonna be blue and white or is that a belly? Take a triangle file and cut grooves with that about 1 mm deep. at least 3 rings. mix a little epoxy and smear it on the rod, slide the core on there and then sinew like a mother. no more slipping. I always sinew like a m...

I'm finishing up my first whip in over a year for a departing colleague. Once I finish that one I'll get to work on one for the drawing. I missed last year due to my own failure to plan.
