Looking nice Jyri! Mahtava! I was going to suggest as this is a "Finnish" stockwhip maybe a Birchwood handle? But then I see the overlay in black and the blackened handle works. Trying to do the overlay with a keeper on one end and an English eye on the other is a challenge. They both need...

Happy 10th Birthday WB. Actually Robby, I have Tyler beat by 11 months almost. But it isn't about how long a member has been around, but the quality of their contributions to the community. By that standard I think Rachael, Robert, and Ron have us all beat! Thanks again everybody for your hard work ...

Looking good Mark. Very nice taper and strand drops are "mostly" invisible. You might want to trim the tab on the fall a bit, rounding it off. Yes, a fall hitch will stand out a bit, but the whip continues tapering through the fall all the way to the cracker. A "heavy" fall knot ...

Mark, cutting a belly or overlay with a keeper is not too difficult, but takes a bit of practice to get everything even and balanced. The same principle applies to bullwhips. Having the ability to switch strands is key. The Aussie strander is not good for this. The Dene Williams strander is excellen...

Very nice Mark! Excellent taper you have there. Can't wait to see what the overlay turns out to be.

One of my first stockwhips using pre-cut lace I took a piece of leather and cut it into a keeper with a "tail" on both ends. I bound this to the whip itself. Much easier than halving strands and braiding a keeper.

Very nice Mark. I am always a fan of stockwhips. Make sure you roll the heck out if the core, especially as it is twisted. The kip bolster will help to "fill in the gaps" somewhat. Plaiting from a yoke is actually very easy. With stockwhips the yoke is actually part of the keeper. Both the...

I went to her facebook page. The testimonials are obviously written by extreme newbies or under duress... https://www.facebook.com/aussiewhipmaher And almost every "testimonial" does not have a name. To be fair, and I posted this before, I bought a redhide stockwhip kit from Gayle. I foun...

Thanks for the video Robby. Years ago I considered buying a whip from Gayle, but instead went with a redhide stockwhip kit from her. The kit was reasonably priced and well made/ cut out. Her instructions were very clear with lots of good tips and advice on whipmaking. I find it hard to believe she w...

I'd take a JrzJoe whip over this one anyday. At least his "look" like a real bullwhip, even if they have a rope core.

Very nice work Mark! The taper is very smooth and even. Strand widths are very uniform. On a whip with this type of design uneven strands would stick out. I see none. Only flaw I can see, and it is quite evident is in the pattern itself. There is a small section about 1.5ft from the end where the pa...

Love the colors! It looks very nice and not a hint of "wander" in the plaiting. Very good job!
